I just worked on a baby blanket for a friend of mine who is due in late June and made most of the quilt... well, all of it, actually... in a week! After attempting a larger quilt (one that is a year overdue) I see the attraction of putting together a smaller, but no less meaningful piece.
Here are some photos. I will post updated photos after I take them tomorrow of the near-finished product.
As you can see, I did some free-motion quilting and came up with a crescent-moon and star pattern of my own which I like very much. Obviously, my sewing needs some practice.
For this quilt I used:
Alexander Henry's 2-D Zoo - Blue from ebay.com
Alexander Henry's Feeling Groovy - Blue from cheap-threads.com
Goth Baby - Blue from cheap-threads.com
The rest of the fabrics I bought at The City Quilter in Manhattan. They have many more fabrics in the store than online. That is also where I took classes to learn how to use a sewing machine and to quilt.
