Zoe's Baby Quilt - Fabrics are selected

So my friend asked me to make a baby quilt for her friend's daughter, Zoe. Zoe like bubbles, bananas, has what she calls "seafood pajamas" (how cute) and is half Greek. So I have selected the following fabrics to be a part of her quilt. I'm excited. (The "Greek flag blue" is missing from the photos, but I will be doing a block or two as a reference to the Greek flag as well.)

I'm using Alexander Henry's "Juicy Jungle" as the main print and basing the color scheme off of that.

Animal Themed Cat Blankets

So I made a kitty blankie a while ago for my cats (see earlier post) and it has been a HUGE hit. The 3 cats literally rotate who gets to be on the blanket.

So I decided to make some more and sell them. And last night, as I was finishing the binding on one of them I had the other two unfinished blankets next to me on the couch and this is what happened.

Remmy got on the old blanket and Eskimo got on the new ones.

Then there was a battle of who got the new real estate.

I think these might be a hit, if my cats are any indication at all.

I'm still finishing the binding on this one, but you get the idea.

Danish and Finnish flag Tea Towel!

And I'm Finnished!

Oooooooohhhhheeeee!
Let's not stop now, just when it's getting good!

LOOK, I've been sewing for hours.

Okay - so here are my Danish flag and Finnish flag tea towels. Eat your heart out.

Or commission me to make some of the country/ies from whence YOU came.

Okay - the Finnish comes first, then the Danish. Sorry Danes.

Texas Tea Towels???!!!

Yeehaw!

Soooooo my friend asked me to make tea towels for a couple who is having a housewarming party day after tomorrow. He is in San Francisco and I am in New York so I have to make this quick because I'm still sewing and have to get these to FedEx tomorrow morning.

So the woman is from Texas and the man is Danish and Finnish - so here are my Texas flag tea towels. On to the Finnish and Danish flags!

Baby quilt for Zoe in the works

So a friend of mine just commissioned me to make a baby quilt for a little girl named Zoe who lives in Switzerland with her family. Her mother is a good friend of my friend and we talked about themes and colors and stuff and now I will begin putting together fabrics.

This is fun - I actually dreamed about quilting last night come to think of it, what kind of blocks I would use - and one of the most creative parts of the whole process.

I will photos as I go along hopefully to document the process better than I have in the past!

I will also be attempting my first placemats and napkins for my friend's sister and husband and will post my progress on those as well.

Sewing for Christmas

Christmas? We haven't even hit Halloween!!!

I know, I know. But I'm trying to get a head start on some goods for Christmas presents. And since I like to do my Christmas shopping way in advance I thought it wasn't too early to get some stuff online.

Here's a little sample of stuff I'm working on. Much, much more to come.

Happy Fall!

Thanks for coming by. Feel free to befriend me on Facebook!

A not-so teaser.

I am SO excited about projects I have coming up. Somehow on Sunday (after a late night of partying) I managed to pull my neck out very badly. So I have spent almost three days trying to recuperate with my cats on the couch.

I'm currently on valium on the couch with a chocolate bar watching "Knocked Up" which is freaking awesome. Someone just said on screen, "It just freaks me out, when I know that they're pregnant... everything's so wet."

Hee hee!

But part of what I'm doing here is selecting my next projects and I'm really excited. I might even try one that's super easy if my neck works and the valium doesn't make me sew my hand to my face.

Trala!
